Tb s new slashed hem has removed one of the greatest difficulties of the extremely narrow skirt, giving a much desired freedom in walking that sensible American women insist upon having, in spite of fashion’s edicts. In its modified form the slashed skirt is entirely practical, as the slash is pot apparent exoept when the wearer Is in motion, when a plaited under section of the mat<*ial is revealed.
