A. K. Yeoman Sells Farm at $150 Per Acre.
Andrew K. Yeoman has sold his finely improved farm of 240 acres 2 %' miles southeast of town to Kerman Messman of Kentland, at $l5O per acre, and will probably buy property in Rensselaer and move to town when they give possession, which is March 1, 1914. The sale was made through L. A. Harmon’s agency.
Mr. and Mrs. Yeoman’s children are all grown and are now doing for themselves, and as they are now alone and growing old it is their intention to retire. Mr. and Mrs. Yeoman are among Jasper county’s best known and most highly respected people and it is hoped that they will finally decide to locate in Rensselaer.
Visiting Here Prom Montana. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Shumaker of LATina, Mont., arrived from a visit with Mrs. Shumaker’s sister, Mrs. A. S. Freeman, in Newman, 111., and will visit for three or four weeks with her three brothers,•• James, Jacob and Edward Gilmore. this vicinity. Propi here they expect to go to Akron, Ind., where Mr. Shumaker’s parents live, and thence to Kneosha, Wis., where Mrs. Shumaker has two sisters.
Mr. and Mrs. Shumaker left thi s ••unty five years ago, living one year in South Dakota, then going to Montana, where many acres of good land was opened to homesteaders. They took a claim of ICO acres, and have built a house and ban and sow have their land all fenced in, having proved up their cUim a few weeks bfore leaving. They like their ■ew home and think it a very good country. Ad kinds of small grain, vegetables and alfalfa can be readMjr grown with good results.
