TAFT ATTENDS ANNUAL MASS
Ceremony to Commemorate PanAmerican Unity Is Celebrated by Cardinal Gibbons at Capital. Washington. Nov. 29. i— In the presence of President Taft, eight members of his cabinet, the majority of the members of the Supreme court of the United States and representatives ol all the 22 republics of the western hemisphere. Cardinal Gibbons celebra ted the annual mass to commemorate Pan-American unity. The mass, held in St. Patrick’s Ro man Catholic church, was remarkable
this year for the presence of practically all official Washington, and the big church was crowded to the doors lgng before the time set for the opening of the ceremony. To offset the somber black worn by all the diplomats, the pillars of the church were wreathed in American flags and the dark blue and white of the Pan-American Union.
