Ray Adams returned Thursday from Prairieville,. Alabama, where he has been for the past three making some repairs on the buildings and sowing some oats on the farm which they recently bought near that place. He expects to move down there some time in December.
buildings on the Wi'soa Shaffer and Mtrs. Beck land, west of the city, were sold Friday afternoon by the trustees of Weston cemetery, who now own the ground. C. B. Steward bought both the houses, paying for the Shaffer house S3BO and SBO for the Beck house. The bairn on the Shaffer place was bought by M. L. Hemphill for $67.
Mrs. Mary Landis, mother of former Congressmen Charles B. Landis of Delphi, and Fred K. Landis, the Progressive candidate for Lieutenant Governor, also Judge Kenesaw M. Landis of Chicago, and former ]>otstnxaetcr at. San Juan, Portto Rico, Wlaiiter K. Landis, died at the Landis home in Logansport Saturday, aged 80 years. In addition to the four sons she loaves two other children, Katie J., and Francis Q. Landie, who live at the family heme in Logansport.
Squire Spriggs was in from Walker Ip., Monday and brought in a load of nice potatoes which he sold for 40 cents per bushel. He raised 23 bushels of navy beans .which he was offered over $2.50 per bushel far if he would hand pick them. They were raised on less than 2 acres of ground. That is, two acres were planted but a whole lot were drowned out. Mrs. Spriggs, who hid, the misfortune to break her left arm badly in two places a few weeks ago, is getting along veny nicely for’ a person of her age.
