Notice of Railroad Election and Appropriation. State of Indiana, County of Jasper, ss: To William I. Hoover, Sheriff of Jasper County, Indiana, Greeting: You are hereby notified that an election will be held in Carpenter Township, Jasper county, Indiana, as set forth in the attached notice, and you are hereby directed to post notices thereof according to the statute. To the Qualified Legal Voters of Carpenter Township, Jasper county, Indiana: Pursuant to an order of the Board of Commissioners of Jasper county Indiana, entered of record on October 7, 1912, to which reference is had, notice is hereby given to said voters that the several voting places and precincts in Carpenter Township, Jasper county, Indiana, will be opened Tuesday, November 5, 1912, for the purpose of taking the vote® of the legal voters of the said Carpenter Township for or against the appropriation of a sum of money equal to two (2) per centum of all taxable property for the current year of 1911 in Carpenter Township, Jasper county, Indiana, as shown by the tax duplicate of Carpenter Township in the Treasurer’s office of said Jasper county, Indiana. Said appropriation to be made upon the conditions set forth in the petition, now on file in the Auditor’s office of Jasper county, Indiana, which petition is for the aid of the Indiana Northwestern Traction Company, in the construction of the railroad in said petition set forth, upon which the said order of the Board of Commissioners was made, to be taken in stock in said Railroad Company by said Township or by individaul taxpayers. All of such appropriation is, however, to aid said Railroad Company in the construction and operation of said railroad through said Carpenter Township, Jasper county, Indiana.
