HANG DONAGHEY IN EFFIGY
Arkansas Residents Angered at Governor for Pardoning Megro Twice Convicted for Murder. Little Rock, Ark., Sept. 20.—Gov. George W. Donaghey was hanged in effigy here for pardoning Robert Armstrong, a negro, twice convicted and sentenced to hang for attacking Miss Ella Hardcastle, a nurse. The dummy figure was found hanging from the cross arms of a telegraph pole In the court square. The sheriff cut it down. Governor Donaghey declared his belief that the negro was innocent.
