HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
And Well Attended Was Organ Recital at Presbyterian Church. The organ recital at the Presbyterian church last Friday evening, by Charles T. Hansen, the noted blind organist of Indianapolis, was attended by a fairly large and highly appreciative audience. Professor Hansen spoke in very high terms of the new organ and said he was sur prised to find that a town of this size should have such an excellent instrument. He said it was even better than many of the organs in the Indianapolis churches. His selections were varied to try out the new instrument and to show the congregation the many excellent points superiority of the organ. He received much applause after each selection. Miss Heflen Carson, of Monticello, sang two solos during the recital and was highly applauded The congregation felt more pleased than ever over Mr. Forsythe’s gilit of this splendid instrument after Mt. Hanson’s praise. The receipts of the recital were $92.50. It is the intention to give another recital in the near future, Mr. Hanson as organist, with an entirely new program of less classical music, at which the admission will be 25 cents for adults instead of 50 cents, the price charged Friday evening.
