Obituary of James Shindler.

James Shindler was born April 6, 1832, in Bohemia, Austria, and died in Brook, Indiana. August 18, 1912, aged 80 years and 12 days. He was married to Veronica Nichole 1 , in 1854, and to this union were! born 5 children, three sons and ■ two daughter?, two of which remain, namely: James C. of this place, and Mrs. Mary Bill, of near

Goodland, Indiana. Two sons and one daughter together with his wife having proceeded him to the other Life. In 1862 the family emigrated frorfi Bohemia to this country and located at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. and a year later moved to Jas*per county, Indiana, in which county he lived, until the death of his wife two years ago. Mr. Shindler wais< a blacksmith by trade and followed his trade for years in and around Rensselaer where he was well known and loved by all. He lived to see Rensselaer grow from a little hamlet to what it is today. Mr. Shindler was born and raised and confirmed in the Catholic church and was nominaly a Catholic all of ihls life. He was a good, father, a kind friend and neighbor anti loved and respected by all. Funerhl services were held in the U. B. Church at Brook, Monday, at 1 o’clock, conducted by Rev. A. M. Snyder, assisted by the Rev's. Nobles, and interment made in the Rensselaer cemetery. The family have the sympathy of the entire comma nifty.—Brook Reporter.
