Taft money has become almost so scarce as a-protested delegates at the recent convention in Chicago. One man today had SI,OOO which he tried to place on the New Jersey Governor, but without success. He offered to bet this amount at 10 to 8, but there were no takers A few bets were reported at odds of 3 to 2, and the prediction is that the Wilson contingent will have to give 2 to 1 if they wish to gamble.

J., July 10.--Among the men who met Goverfior Wilson at his hotel today was William Cramp, retired shipbuilder of Philadelphia. “I have voted the Republican ticket for 40 years,” lie told the Governor, “but in, 1912 I shall vote for you.” Governor Wilson, also met Governor McCreity of Kentucky and Commissioner McHord of the Interstate Commerce Commission, who are staying at the same, hotel as Governor Wilson.

“Kentucky is for you strong.” Governor McCreary told the nominee. “We are going to help elect ypu,” : . James Woodrow of Columbia, S. C., Governor Wilson’s cousin, was another caller. He was invited to visit the Governor at Seagirt. William J. Burrs,- who investigated the alleged Councilmanic graft cases in Altantic City, talked with the Governor for a few minutes about the local suituation.
