Best Roads On Chicago-Indianapolis Trip Found Via Rensselaer.
Perhaps a hundred more automobile tourists, returning from the Indianapolis races, passed through Rensselaer Saturday, and a half a hundred more went through Sunday. Friday was the big day, however, and probably four or five hundred machines went through Rensselaer that day. Perhaps more than that number as they begun going through early in the morning and kept up a steady stream all day long. Quite a number of the tourists stopped here for dinner and luncheon and the hotels were filled up Friday night with tourists who remained here over night. The garages also done considerable business with the tourists, and altogether no doubt they left several hundred dollars here. « Judging from the great number of machines going through here on the return . trip, many who went from Chicago via Winamac and Logansport learned from other tourists after reaching Indianapolis that the roads were better this way, and therefore returned via Lafayette and Rensselaer. >
