Naturally Surprised.

An old German furniture dealer had a woman customer who was a great talker. Nobody could get away from her when she started in. One day he sent a clerk to the lady’s house to try to collect a bill. When the clerk returned empty handed the old German said: :>. ’ ' “Veil! Vat did the lady say?” “She did not say anything, sir. She was mute,” replied the clerk.
