The injured were brought to Chicago along with the rest of the passengers on the remainder of the train which was not wrecked. The train arrived in the afternoon It was due at 7:25 a. m. Examination of the broken rail which caused the wreck led to the belief that it had yielded under the heavy train because of the low temperature. The fractured, steel showed the crystallization of a sharp break as under a severe blow. ;
