MINERS IN CONFERENCE

Official Call Issued for Meeting of Operators and Employes. Indianapolis, Jan. 12 President John P. White of the United Mine orkers of America has issued, an official call for a joint conference of ‘miners and operators of the bituminous coal states,.lllmois, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and Indiana, to be held here Jan. 25. This is the third attempt to organize an interstate joint conference to agree on a wage scale for the five states, the other two —one at Chicago last month and the other here last Tuesday—having failed. The- annual national convention of the miners will open here.next Tuesday and it. is expected 1,300 delegates from the United States and Canada will attehd.
