GOVERNOR HOOPER IN PRISON

Tennessee Executive Associates with Convicts for a Purpose. Nashville, Tenn., Dec. 22. —For the first time in the history of the Volunteer state the chief executive officer spent a night in prison. Governor Benjamin Wade TTcci'cr stepped down from his high office and remained overnight at the penitentiary, mingling with the convicts and searching for worthy subjects for pardon on Christmas day.
