Murdocks Sells Chalmers Farm.
Thomas Tolen, a prosperous farmer of Duncombe, lowa, closed a deal Saturday afternoon whereby he becomes the owner of a fine farm containing 320 acres, three miles west of Chalmers, this county. The farm was purchased from Charles and Samuel Murdock of Lafayette. The price paid by Air. Tolen for this land was $162.50 per acre, or $52,000. This farm is considered one of the best improved and most ‘productive in White county. " j Mr. Tolen was formerly a White county boy and left here about ten years, ago and purchased a farm in Webster county ; lowa. He has recently sold his lowa holdings. Mr. Tolen says he finds no land that beats White county and says he expects to move to his new purchase ofr his future residence. — Monticello Journal.
