Former Resident Murdered In Nebraska.
James Overton received word a few days ago from a brother in Nebraska, appraises him of the murder about a month ago or William Overton, a former residing near Omaha, who is supposed to have been killed several w r eeks ago but whose body was not found until very recently. The murdered man was a cotisin of James Overton, and Mrs. Mary Lowe of Rensselaer, Mrs. W. E. Jacks of south of town and Charles Bussell < of Hanging Grove. He used to live in Jasper county, but left here many
years ago. He was a bachelor, about 65 years of age and is supposed to have been murdered for his money, he being in the habit of carrying large sums on his person. He is said to have received $5,000 a short time previous to the date he is supposed to have been killed.
