JAMES MATHESON DEAD.

Well Known Citizen Passed Away at 8:15 Thursday Night. James Matheson, one of Rens selaer’s most honored citizens, passed away at 8:15 Thursday evening after several months suffering from cancer of the bladder, aged about 70 years. The funeral will be held Sunday at 3 p. m.,' from the Presbyterian church, and burial made in Weston cemetery. Deceased was a prominent member of both the Masonic and Modern Woodmen lodges, and it is probable both orders will attend the funeral in a body. Mr. Matheson was a native of Edinburg, Scotland, but had lived almost all his life in America. For many years he was a railway mail clerk, giving up that business some 17 years ago when he came from Illinois to Jasper county and bought a large farm just north of town. He leaves one daughter, Mrs. George Reed, to whom he gave the farm a few years ago, and a widow, his second wife, and many warm friends to mourn the death of a good man.
