Gilbert Not Known Here.

Wednesday’s Hammond Times says: A. J. Gilbert of Rensselaer, whose condition was thought critical at St. Margaret’s hospital, is reported much improved and will be able to leave the hospital in a few days. Mr. Gilbert received a severe fall Monday night when he stepped from the sidewalk at the four corners and fell. He struck his head on the edge of the walk and was rendered unconscious and got a bad cut. . He was removed to St. Margaret’s hospital by Emmerling’s ambulance. M.r. Gilbert is 75 years old and on account of his age it was thought that his fall might prove serious. He came here’to visit friends on Labor day. The Democrat has been unable to learn of any Rensselaer man of the above name.
