Obituary of George McCoy.

George McCoy fell asleep and passed to the beyond August 23, 1911, aged 84 years, 9 months and 27 days. He was born Oct. 26, 1827, near Lisbon, Ohio, where he lived until 1854, when he moved to Jasper county on a farm near McCoysburg. He was married to Ruth Clark in the year 1849. To them five children were born, of which j Alfred E., and Ella M. Kelley 1

are still living. In 1863 his I wife Ruth passed to the beyond.' He was married to Naomi Ott in 1864, and to this unoin three children were born, of whom two are still living, Reed and Frank P. These four children and the wife were present to mourn the loss of husband and father. He was a loving and kind husband and father, a friend to all and a neighbor who was noted for the many kindly deeds, always ready to lend a helping hand and will long be remembered as a true friend and neighbor. For a number o£ years his body was. frail, but his strong will-power seemed to tide him over many serious attacks of sickness. His last sickness was of less than twenty-foui hours duration and he passed away wearing that ever-peaceful smile he so often greeted us with in life. The funeral was held at McCoysburg Friday morning at 10 o’clock conducted by Rev. E. M Kuonen of the Barkley circuit. Burial in Marion cemetery on Saturday morning at 9 o’clock.
