Birthday Anniversary Surprise.

About fifty relatives, neighbors and friends gathered at the hospitable - home of W. M. Hoover, southwest of town, Sunday, and when Mr. and Mrs. Hoover got home from church they found the place, had been “taken” by the invaders. The occasion for the invasion was the fact that it was Mr. Hoover’s 68th birthday anniversary, and as the self-invited guests had brought plenty of well filled baskets of all the good things that abound in that section of the county, the dinner that followed the hand-shaking and congratulations was one not soon forgotten. Like the parable of the loaves and fishes, there were -many baskets of fragments While Mr. Hoover carried a musket in the civil war for three years enlisting at 17, he is still quite hale and hearty and is spryer than many much younger men. May he live to celebrate many more, birthday anniversaries, is the wish of The. Democrat.
