The Common Council.

The common council met in regular session Monday evening .with all members present. In matter of petition of J. M. Wasson, et . al. for sidewalk, rules were suspended and resolution for same adopted. Resolution for sidewalk along we.* t side of college avenue, rules were suspended and resolution, adopted. *' In matter of sidewalk along |E. Peacock property on Spar-/ | ling avenue, rules suspended an I ion ballot resolution was lost. The Vandalia Coal i Co. was awarded contract for city coai for ensuing year at sl.lO per ton. Freight is 87c per ton in addition, to this. Report of Fire Chief read and members present at. Wm. Dixey fire allowed $1.50 each. The mausoleum people were before the council and made a little talk, but nothing was done in any way by the latter and no record made. The following claims were allowed : LIGHT FUND.
