KILLED BY LIGHTNING.
W. E. Holland of Remington Struck by Bolt Friday Ev- , ening. Nothing has so stirred Remington for a long time as the tragic death of nightwatchman William E. Holland, who was struck by lightning Friday evening and instantly killed. Mr. Holland was leaving his home in the northwest Jpart of town to go down town when the bolt struck him on top of the head and he was instantly killed. The crown of his hat was torn out and the metal frame of his glasses melted by the bolt. The funeral was held Sunday at Remington and was largely attended. His age was 45 years. Deceased was a respected citizen and had served as nightwatch for 18 years, only recently resigning to take the janitorship of the Remington schools when they open for the fall term. He leaves a wife and one son. Mrs. Sam Mitchell of Remington is an only sister. He was a member of both the I. O. O. F. jand K. of P. lodges, the members _o? which attended his funeral Sunday afternoon at the Christian church.
