A LITTLE “SARKASM.”

Brook Reporter: Eugene Purtelle, the interurban railroad promotor, passed up the Rensselaer route in disgust, and says the people over there refuse to appreciate a bright man when they see one, much less when they come in contact with one. It is even said that the recent rise iri the Iroquois river was due to the tears dropped into the gutter over Mr. Purtelle’s decision. It is also evident that Mr. Purtelle has a few tender memories stored up in his heart for the newspapers of that berg, and ere this time no doubt he has appointed a new chief of his publicity bureau from his roundhouse town to the north of us. It is even said that Mr. Purtelle will be in Brook one of these days to interest some of our bloated bondholders in the building of .a route through here.
