JAMES MATHESON TO DIE

Has Cancer of Bladder and Can Live But a Few Days. James Matheson, one of Rensselaer’s most respected citizens, was operated on in an Indianapolis hospital Monday for a bladder trouble which has been bothering , him considerably of late, and it was found that he had cancer of the bladder and no hope was held out for his recovery. He might live a day, a week or a month, but not longer than that. Mrs. Matheson accompanied him to Indianapolis last Thursday, and hfs daughter, Mrs. George Reed, is also at his bedside. Mr. Matheson is one of our best citizens and until recently an apparently robust man. His many friends will be greatly pained to learn of his present critical condition.
