HOTEL MAN DROPS DEAD.
George Fate, Proprietor of the Makeever House, Dies Very Suddenly. George Fate, who for the past several year's had conducted a restaurant on the west side of the court house square, and who had been proprietor of the Makeever House the past few months, died at the latter place Monday morning at 10:30 o’clock of heart failure, from which he had suffered for some years. His age was about 58 years. Mr. Fate was a highly respected citizen and a goo.l business man. He had made scores of friends in Rensselaer and Jasper county, and was well liked by all who knew him. He owned a farm just north of Rensselaer. He leaves a widow, who was griefstricken from the shock coming as it did so unexpectedly, and one son, C. P. Fate, of Indianapolis, who was expected to arrive here Monday night. No arrangements had been made for the funeral as we go to press.
