REMINGTON MERCHANT,

C. A. Balcom, Well Known Grocer, Is Closed Up By Creditors. The Balcom grocery store at Remington was closed last Tuesday and it is reported that Mr. Balcom will file a petition in bankruptcy. The extent of the assets and liabilities have not been made public at this writing. Mr. Balcom, who has been in business there for ten or a dozen years, 'has been traveling about considerable lately in the west, his son Verb having charge of the business durjng his absence. It is reported that Balcom is now staying in Chicago, and report 'had it that he was there sick, but others say that he was in Remington the Saturday night previous, to the store’s closing. The following notice was placed on the door of the store last Tuesday morning, since which time it has, remained closed: “Owing to circumstances which we are unable to control, this store is closed in order to settle up the business.-— C.
