APPEALS BUCKET SHOP CASE
Attorney General Wickersham Acts as Soon as Decision Is Known. Washington, March 31. —Dismissing indictments against thirteen alleged bucketshop operators whose offices in Washington, Baltimore, Chicago and ot'er cities were closed because of the government crusade against this sort of business. Justice Wright in the district supreme court delivered an opinion which is a serious setback to the department of justice. As soon as he learned that the bucketshop cases had been thrown out of court upon the ground that the prohibiting their operation is constitutional, Attorney General Wickersham ordered that an appeal should be taken. The case will be taken to the United States supreme court if necessary.
