EIGHTH GRADE DIPLOMA EXAMINATIONS.

This year the rural schools have about 190 pupils in the eighth grade. ,At the meeting of the Board of Education on Monday of last week it was decided to hold two examinations the same as has been done the last three years. These examinations will be held in the different townships on the third Saturday of March and April. In case there is only a few pupils to take the second examinations it is probable that it will not be held in all townships, but that arrangements will be made to hold it at a few central points. Pupjls failing upon the first examination will be required to take over only the subjects in which they may make a grade of less than 80 per cent upon the first examination. The first examination will be held .upon March 18 at the following points: Barkley township,, at Center school house; Carpenter township, at Remington ; Gillam township, at Center school house; Hanging Grove township, at Banta school house; Jordan township, at Egypt school house; Kankakee township, at Dupnville; Keener township, at Demotte; Marion township, at Rensselaer; Milroy township, at No. 2 school house; Newton township, jat Rensselaer with Marion township; Union township, at Fair Oiks; Walker town-
