BURNS CAUSE DEATH
Gas from Stove Sets Fire to Child’s Hair and Clothing. Crawfordsville, Ind.. Feb. 3. —Ruth Patton, 5 years old. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Patton, of Linden, died as a result of burns sustained Monday. The child opened the door of a heating store and an explosion of gas which followed brew flames imo her hair, igniting it. The father, who was out of doors at the time of the explosion, heard the cries of bis daughter and. rushing into the house, attempted to save her. He was also burned, but not seriously.
