OBITUARY.
Joel Root was born in Dark Co., Ohio, June 3, 1832, and died at his home in Jasper Co., Ind., Jan. 28, 1911, aged 78 vears, 7 momhs and 25 days. He was married to, Catherine Blocher in the year tßy, near Hillgrove, Ohio. To thir union were born three children —one son and two daughters. The ron Jesse lives in North Dakota, and was unable to be present. The two daughters live near Wheatfield. Grandfather Root leaves three children, twelve grandchildren, one sister, two half-brothers and two half sisters, with many other relatives and friends to mourn their loss. He moved from Ohio to Bond county, 111., in 1868 where his companion died in 1881, and in 1887 he came to Wheatfield, Ind., where he lived till death. He was a faithful member of the old Brethern church for many years and also served as a deacon for a number of years, and in his death the church loses a faithful member and the neighborhood a good citizen, but we hope our loss is his eternal gain. The funeral was preached at the M. E. church -by G. H. Balsbaugh of New Waverly, Ind. Interment was made In Wheatfield cemetery. , 1
