GEESE WITH FOUR WINGS.

They Are Part of a Poultry Show—- ' Hatched Without Trouble. Columbus, Ind., January 12,. There are a number of unusual

things to be seen at the annual show of the American Poultry Breeders and Fanciers’ Association, of this city, now’ in progress at the city hall. One of these is an exhibit of fourwinged geese, owned by Henry King, a colored man. He had an ordinary goose that laid an . ordinary looking egg. Then the goose laid another egg, and another, and so no down the line. The eggs were saved. When the time arrived for the goose to sit the eggs were placed under her, and she remained faithfully on the job. Imagine the surprise of King .when every egg hatched a four-winged . gosling. Since that time many eggs of the four-winged geese have been and all have produced the four-winged variety. s The secon pair of wings grows out of the ordinary wings. They do' not seem to bother the geese in the least. although they are turned in the opposite direction from the ordinary wings and are about twelve inches in length. Poultry exhibitors at the show say they never saw fourwinged geese before.
