Come out and see the display of fine poultry. Louis Putts of south of town went to Logansport Saturday for a few days visit with his brother, George Putts. Mrs. C. W. Rhoades went to Goodland Saturday to see her mother, Mts. Wm. Townsend, who is critically ill. \E. L. Bruce and daughter Lora were called to Fulton Monday by the sickness of Mrs. Bruce who is visiting there. - Henry Ginn and family of Indianapolis returned home Morfday after a few days visit here with his aunt, Mrs. J. T. Murray and family. The subsidy election in Roselawn and Lincoln tp., Newton county Saturday is said to have carried by a vote Of 93 to 10. A light vote was cast. ■ A. Linn and wife of Attica, who •v had been visiting the past week here with their daughter, Mrs. W. H. Parkison and family, returned home Monday. Charles and Frank Horsewood of near Rensselaer', who had been visiting relatives in Lagrange county the past few days, returned home Monday. Misses Mabel and Blanche Hunt of Baroda, Mich., spent Monday here with their uncle, J. J. Hunt and family, and their grandparents, Mr. rnd Mrs. W. H. Miller. - Henry Downer of Thayer, while i,,it in a • boat on the Kankakee Sunday with a companion, was drowned by the capsizing of the boat. His companion escaped. Mrs. Peter Scallon of Lafayette and Victor Sullivan of Frankfort returned to their homes a few days ago after a visit with Peter Hordej man, Sr., and family of west of town. George M. and Delevan Babcock were in Chicago Saturday night and took in “The Man Who Owns Broadway” at the Colonial theater, formerly the Iroquois theater, returning home on the early train Sunday morning.
Squire W. E. Friday night's wrestling match at the Ellis theatre between Harvey Myers and %m. Stewart of Parr, drew a big crowd of sports, who seemed to think they got their money’s worth. Larsh has so far recovered from her recent operation as to be about and is up town quite frequently once more. Edgar P.
