CAST LARGEST INGOT
Homestead Works Put Out Piece of Steel Weighing 135 Tons. At mill No. 2 of the Hamestead, Pa., Steel works there was cast what is said to be the largest ingot of Krupp â– teel in the world. The ingot is 13 feet 4 Inches high, 10 feet 8 inches wide and 4 feet 4 inches thick, and weighs 135 tons. It will be taken to the press shop of the armor plate works and pressed into a plate eighteen inches thick. The ingot is one of a pair ordered by the United States government for a land fort on. the Panama canaL The other ingot Till be cast in about two weeks. . " M<r.
