WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH WHITE.

In 1908 Mr. Crumpacker carried every county in the Tenth district except White county, and he lost that county by only three votes. He carried Benton county by 46, Jasper by 255. Lake by 3,136, by 16, NeWton by 139, Porter by 1,104, Tippecanoe by 689, and Warren by 890. This

year he carried Benton by 8, Jasper by 97, Lake by 910, Porter by 398, Tippecanoe by 381, Warren by 696 and White by 103. The only county in the district he gained in was White, which he lost two years before. White county has been going backward for some time, politically speaking, and it was only this fact that elected a republican state senator here two years ago.
