LEE. Mrs. Mary Ann Smith visited with Mrs. J. H. Culp Tuesday. James Overton, Jr., and wife visited Frank Overton over Sunday. Cora Noland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Noland, is sick again. Mrs. Harriet Jack- is visiting her daughter. Mrs. Ida Clark this week. Clyde Clark of near Morocco visited his mother over Sunday. She very poorly. W. E. and J. H. Culp returned last Mon day even ing front a. visit at t heir sister’s in Wisconsin, Yern Jacks and lady friend of Lafayette visited his parents, Alf Jacks and wife Sunday.
EAST MARION. Chauncey Wood hauled wood to town Monday. Mrs. Ella Robinson was a Rensselaer goer Tuesday. John Shields is working for Harvey Wood this week. .Miss Olive Criswell called on her sister, Mrs. Hiram Blancbett, Tuesday. ’ ' J, M. Wasson is having a new corn crib built on his farni southeast of town. . Andrew Hurley, who has beer, baking at George Fate's restaurant, is at home for a few days visit. Mr. and Mrs. Grover Morris and ' daughter of Gifford visited Mr. and Mrs. Abe Hurley Saturday night and Sunday. v , Mr. and Mrs. Frank Horsewood and daughter’attended the box supper at Slaughter school house Saturday night. . ‘
CURTIS CHEEK. Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Parker visited in Rensselaer Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew THlison of Kansas are visiting his sister, Mrs. Doan and family. Miss Bess Paulus has returned to her work for her sister, Mrs. Janies Reed near Surrey. Miss Sarah Holmes returned home Saturday night after three weeks work for Mrs. Chas. Weiss. Mrs, Art Pow r ell and children visited a couple of days in Monon, returning home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Lamson visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. George Werner. Eli Brown took supper with the Holmes family Friday night to help eat the first wild goose their son Boyd ever killed. Earl Shigley returned Saturday night from Momence, 111., where he spent the summer. He will work through corn husking for S. B. Holmes. There will be a box social and ice-cream supper at Curtis Creek, Friday night, Oct. 28th. There will be a program before the selling of the boxes* Eveybody welcome. Allie Francis visited with his sister a few' days, while his foot was too sore for him to work. The ligaments were torn loose on one side of the foot instead of just being sprained, as was thought at first. The surprise panties would both had larger crowds Saturday night if they had been on separate nights. Some one reported ?that the one at Henson’s wasn't a go but there were enough there that they had a fine time anyway.

E. Bice’s. Rev. Clarke of Rensselaer will preach at Lawndale Sunday at 3 o’clock after Sunday school. The attendance of Lawndale Sunday school wa- about 50 Sunday. Kias Paquette spent Sunday night at Dennis Marques’. Mr-. Easterdav arid' daughter Maude of Vincennes spent a few days with the former’s daughter, Mps. George Lucgs this week. Mrs. Will Faylor went to Parr Friday evening: Miss Grace Peyton returned to her school Tuesday morning. - Mrs. Will Faylor attended church at Good Hope Sunday afternoon. Ancel Potts of near Gifford was seen in this part of the country Tuesday. Wilma Peyton came " out Friady to attend the box social at her sister’s school. Ed Ellis and mother returned from Strawn, ill., where they were visiting a few days. George Cover, Tom Florence, Ed Bills and mother were in Rensselaer on business Tuesday. Miss Grace Peyton went to Lafayette Saturday to see an aunt who was sick, and who passed away about noon Saturday.

I wonder if he , is intending to use it by himself or will he find a partner in the near future to help him use it? Mrs. Frank Cole returned to her home at Bisbee, Arizona, after spending the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Press Roberts. Her father accompanied her as far as Chicago.

Hoes of New York was the guest of his sister, Mrs. Arthur Ashby, over Sunday, Charles Snow moved his household effects to' Mrs. Rimer’s cottage near the tile plant Monday. John Sunderland of Foresman was circulating among the politicians here Saturday evening, * Uncle John Hufty is about supple as he was preceeding his severe sickness this summer. The old mill has its fascination for him. Frank Beagley is the first one in this' section to comence throwing fars against the throw-board. He commenced cribbing Monday. Harris, shelled out a car of corn this week. What old corn there is in this section will be crowded out by the bumper crop now ready for the pickers. Jas. Wright is associating in good company. Rev. Moshier taking him along to Foresman and North Star charges. Stranger things have happened. than for Jap to become a fullfledged Methodist circuit rider. He has one qualification already—trad-* ing horses. . J. M. Wltham has dismantled the old blacksmith shop and on the site he will: erect a neat cottage. Such will be an addition to the town both in appearance and making a/other tenant house. May others pattern after him and the old town up the hill of prosperity.

Roy Lewis was the gqe-t of W. B. Holmes Sunday evening. Mrs. Eva Greenlee was a Rensselaer goer Saturday afternoon. Mrs. W. B. Holmes called on' Mrs. Everett Green Monday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gowland were Rensselaer goers Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Green called on Clarence Green and wife Sunday. Miss Maggie Greenlee called on Miss Blanch Kennedy Sunday afternoon. Mrs. W. B. Holmes and daughter Pearl made a business trip to Rensselaer this week. FAIR OAKS. The Moffit school opened up Tuesday with Miss Dresser as teacher. We got an all days rain Friday hut the weather has been fine since.'
