Miss Ethel Sharp and Mrs. F. E. Babcock were Lafayette visitors Saturday. Ed May of near Remington went to Chicago Monday on a few days business trip. . Miss Eva Clark returned home Monday after a few days visit with Lafayette relatives. Mrs. Jacob Day and son Albert of Wolcott are guests of Marshal Mustard and wife. E. Corliss. E. B. Moser, wife and son of Tribune, Kan., are here visiting the families of Mirs. Mary Eger and C. W. Duvall. Mrs. E. J. Stone of Oberlin, Ohio, came Saturday to join her husband, who is employed as job end ad man on The Democrat. B. Forsythe of Oxford spent Sunday here with his wife, who is recovering from her recent operation, but is not very active as yet. Fred Bloomstra and family of Hoopeston. 111., returned home Monday after a short visit here with Mrs. Fred Stocksick and family. Francis Marion and wife and soy of Gifford and Mrs. Marion’s father, James Davis', went to Kirkpatrick Sunday to visit relatives this week. yMrs. John Merritt went to Hammond Saturday to see her brother Alfred’s baby which is quite sick. John also spent Sum day with them in Hammond. John L’llefy arrived in Rensselaer a few days ago from Washington, D. C., to make a visit here and at Brook with relatives and friends until after election.«. J. K. Davis returned Monday from a prospecting trip to Jamestown, N. Dak. He made no deal, we understand, but was much pleased with the country there. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Messmann, of near Rensselaer, visited with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Messman. and family during the week. —-Kentland Democrat. Lanham of; south of town died last Thursday'night at her home in Sheridan. The funeral was held thpre Saturday afternoon. Her age was 80 years. Mrs. Sylvester , Gray went to Bluffton Monday to attend the sale of her husband’s and Harley Lam son’s on Mr. Gray’s farm near that place.
