UPROAR API. C. MEETING

Deputy Sheriffs Appear with Subpoenas for the Directors. With the ahruaf meeting of stockholders invaded by deputy sheriffs armed with subpoenas for the directors of the Illinois Central road, in a 110,000,000 “damage suit,” and Attorney Maxwell Edgar making sensational charges of mismanagement and corruption against the officials of the company, the session in Chicago was thrown into an uproar. The praecipe in the suit was filed in the circuit court in the name of Mrs Jeanne Edgar, wife of the attorney, who owns two shares of Illinois Central stock. The defenants named are the principal directors of the road. A resolution investigation of the charges of corruption was presented by Edgar but Was voted down.
