HOPE WHILE THERE’S LIFE.

i Uncle John Carr prints a big half-tone picture of Congressman Crumpacker in his newspaper, the Fowler Republican. John wanted the Fowler postoffice a few years ago but “Crump” gave him the marble heart; Evidently he still has hopes, however. Old George Marshall of the Rensselaer Republican wanted to be postmaster at Rensselaer about the same time John was lickspittlmg after the Fowler office, but he, too, was told to go back and sit down, and *it hurt his feelings so badly that 'he sold his paper and migrated to the Rogue River country, after firing a broadside or two at the standpat congressman from the Tenth.
