CHESTNUT PLEAD GUILTY
A new affidavit was filed Fri day afternoon by Prosecutor Longwell against Scott Chestnut, the young man who swiped a rain coat and a pair of goggles from a transient auto here one night last week, as told in Saturday’s Democrat, and he was arraigned in court and entered a plea of not guilty. Bond was fixeci at S3OO, in default of which he was remanded to jail and the trial set for Tuesday at 9 a. m. At the hour of trial, however,, ’the defendant and his attorney appeared in court and the plea of not guilty changed to one of guilty and a fine of $lO and costs and a 90 day jail sentence assessed against him. \ The jail sentence was suspended during good behavior, and the fine and costs stayed for 60 days with Col. F. B. Ham and Capt. George Healey as sureties.
