WINS ON 302d BALLOT

“Bob” Vannatta Lands Nomination for Judge After Spirited Contest. The republican convention at Fairmont Wednesday to nominate a judge for the new superior court district of Delaware and Grant counties, was a very lively affair and it was 4:34 o’clock Thursday morning, on .the 302 d ballott, that a choice was finally made. The convention met at 1 p. m., Wednesday and was in continuous session up to Thursday morning, when some of the Delaware county delegates switched .over to Vannatta and he secured enough votes to land the nomination. As stated in Wednesday’s Democrat Robert M. Vannatta. the nominee, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Vannatta of Rensselaer, and was at one time principal of the Remington schools, "hence the interest here in his nomination. While both Delaware and Grant are strongly republican, yet the squabble that ihas resuited over the nomination for the judgeship has caused sores that will probably not be healed over by election time, and “Bob” has not 'as easy sailing as might be supposed from the big majority in his favor.
