THIRTY-NINE DROWNED
Disaster at the Entrance to Straits of Gibraltar. The Spanish steamer Martos went down off Tarifa, at the entrance to the straits of Gibraltar after a collision ’with the German steamer Elsa. Thirty-nine persons were drowned ]when the vessel sank, of whom thir-•ty-two were passengers.
