BOSTON HERALD IN TROUBLE

Judge Coll Appoints John Norris and C. F. Weed Receivers. Boston, July B.—Judge Coll of the United States circuit court has appointed John Norris, of New York, and Charles F. Weed, a local attorney, receivers of the Boston Herald company. Mr. Norris is an officer of the American Newspaper Publishers’ association and it is said he will manage the concern, there being no intimation that publication of either the morning, evening or Sunday issues will be suspended. Receivership proceedings were instituted by the International Paper company, which claims the Herald company is indebted to it to the amount of 89,520 for news print paper sold between Dec 1. 1909, and May 12 of tis year The indebtedness of the publishing concern is somewhere in the neighborhood of 82,200,000 of which J 1.695,000 is a bond issue put out several years ago.
