MOTORCYCLE DEATH.

Samuel W. Patterson, of Fairland, Ind., Falls From Machine, Indianapolis. Ind., June 29. Samuel W. Patterson, thirtyfive years old, of Fairland, Ind.. received injuries yesterday by falling from a motorcycle which caused his death? Patterson fell from the machine five miles east of the city in the Michigan road. He was brought to Indianapolis and placed in St. Vincent’s hospital. but he had received a fracture at the base of his brain and the physicians were unable to save his life. Patterson and his brother Chester, and Harry Carter, also of’ Fairland, were riding to the city on motorcycles. The mechanism of Patterson's machine refused to operate and he attempted to repair it while riding. He had one hand on the •handlebars when the machine struck a rut and he was thrown to the road. The accident occurred about 12:30 o’clock and he died at 4 o’clock.
