MT. AYR (From The Pilot.) Otto and Ernest Schanlaub transacted business in Rensselaer Tuesday. J. B. Sigler tried out his new auto Friday evening, hitting the pike to Rensselaer. .Miss Anna Nagel of Rensselaer is visiting at Daniel Birst’s and Alfred Coovert’s this week. Geo. Long is shelling and delivering to the elevator in the neighborhood of 2,000 bushels of corn. Lesley Miller left Sunday for the county Seat to commence operations as an attachee of the Enterprise. Jesse Bringle is breaking ground for a new cellar and remodeling and building to his farm residence. Mrs. £haw and son formerly of this place but now of Decatur, 111., came Monday for a visit with friends. Frank Horsewood and family from near Rensselaer were guests of Mrs. George Johnson and family Saturday and Sunday. Everett Halstead one of our ever alert farmers has on the ground the componant parts and as soon as assembled, will have a mammoth silo. Mckeever & Wright shipped two care of hogs and six cars of cattle Tuesday. It was as fine a bunch of stock as ever left Mt. Ayr or any other point. The C. I. & S. Ry. has loped off part of their section crew. Whenever a corporation wants to curtail, they commence at the foot of the ladder, the poor man and the poorest man. Mrs. Winona Dunlap took her departure Monday afternoon for Rensselaer where she will visit for a short time thence go to Bluffton where she contemplates remaining until some date in August.
