CALL FOR CONGRESSIONAL CONVENTION.
The democrats of the Tenth Congressional district aiid all others who desire to co-operate with them, are directed to select delegates in each county in the district for the congressional convention which will be held in Hammond, on \ WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8, 1910, for the purpose of selecting a candidate for congress for said district. ' > The basis of representation will be one delegate for each 200 and one for each fraction of 200 over 100 votes cast for Thos. R. Marshall for governor in 1908. Jasper county is entitled to Eight Delegates in said convention. C. J.,>IURPIIY, District Chairman, Jesse Overstreet, for fourteen years a member of congress from the Seventh Indiana district, died at his, home in Indianapolis last Friday after an extended illness from Bright’s disease. His age was 50 years. Monon News (Rep.): A Monticello standpatter puts it thusly: "If it is right and proper for Senator Beveridge to antagonize his party and line up with the opposition in the senate, what’s si sting in the election of Mr. Beveridge’s opponent.” He probably reasons that what is sauce for the goose should be sauce for the gander.
