The Light on the Isle of Pharos

The most famous lighthouse of antiquity stood on the isle of Pharos, off the city of Alexandria, in Egypt. It was one of the seven wonders of the world and was put up during the reign of Ptolemy Philadelphus. After standing up I.GOO years it was destroyed by an earthquake, it is understood to have been oter 500 feet high.
