WHAT MARY HAD AND WHAT OTHERS HAVE.

By V. H. K.

Mary had a little rat, *She wore it in her hair, And every place that Mary went, The Vat was surely there. Above' the rat she wore a hat, That flapped, like wings, the air. It poised upon a mighty pin; And of Its point beware! Beneath the rat and monstrous hat, Arotind the neck so tight, There hung a piece of gaudy cloth, Like an inverted kite. These are the things that Mary had: A rat, a hat, and a pin in that, And on her shoulders shapeless, flat, A coat to match the rat and hat.
