Michigan Senator Resting Easy Although Not Yet Out of Danger.

Senator William A. Smith, of Michigan, was operated upon in Washington for appendicitis and is resting comfortably. The operation was performed by Dr. Barth of Grand Rapids. Senator Smith’s home physician, and Dr. T. I*. McDonald, of Washington. Dr. Barth said that the senator had recovered well from the operation, but that the case was an aggravated one of long standing and that at least thir-ty-six hours would have to elapse before any definite statement could be made concerning the recovery of the a nator.
