Items Picked Up About the County Capitol. Ex-Sheriff O'Connor was down from Knirnan on business. He was wearing a coonskin cap that was greatly admired and some of the fellows would likely have swiped it from his head had not the weather indications been for rising temperature. The Newton county council is called to meet Feb. 7 to appropriate money for rebuilding the poor asylum in that county, which was recently burned. The commissioners are asking for an immediate appropriation of $7,000 and a bond issue of SB,OOO. —o— New suits filed: No. 7559. First National Bank of Medaryville vs. Frank B. Ham; suit on note.
