Teberan, Jan. 28.—A barbarous execution has taken place here. Milfaker Sultanes, a supposed, emissary of the deposed shah, was the victim. He was con* vlcted and sentenced to death. Five thousand persons assembled to see him hanged in the public square Of Topkhano. The noose was put around his neck and the executioners hauled the rope over a pole, after which the victim was lifted high into the air. The rope broke and Milfaker fell to the ground. Mollahs who were standing around, kicked him and one struck him over the head with the butt of a rifle. A new rope was obtained and Mnfaker was again hauled up. His hands were free and he grabbed the rope over his head. He struggled, half choked, for several minutes, part of the crowd cheering and laughing and part hooting. The police levelled their rifles towards the crowd, which caused a panic. Many persons fell down in the resulting rush and were trampled upon, receiving serious injuries. The victim gradually became exhausted and choked to death.
